The BAPTISM of John vs the BAPTISM of CHRIST.

 1. Baptisms.
St. John the Baptist was preaching a baptism of repentance. Christ, also, preached the need for repentance that should be followed by Faith. John was clear that his baptism did not forgive sins. And John pointed out to Jesus whose baptism will forgive sins. So we have two kinds of baptisms; one in the Old Testament. The other in the New Testament.  The former was preached by St. John the Baptist; the other was preached by Christ. The former does not forgive sins; the latter forgive sins. The former was able to save the Old Testament righteous men and women, though they had to wait in Limbo for the Resurrection of Christ before going to heaven. The latter brings  souls directly to heaven.

2. Differences between the two baptisms.
The life of repentance as preached by John the Baptist contains three elements; prayer, fasting and good works. These three activities are physical in nature because it is still Old Testament spirituality. Prayer is mainly verbal prayer of the Psalms. Fasting is giving up of food and drink. And good works are the corporal works of mercy.
The life of baptism of repentance in the Old Testament was in preparation for the first coming of Christ on Christmas night. It is not merely an act but a way of life as lived by Simeon and Anna.
The life of baptism of repentance by Christ in the New Testament was in preparation for the second coming of Christ. This is what forgive past sins and was lived by Christ and the apostles.

3. A source of confusion.
The practice of going to confession to a priest is repentance according to the Old Testament preached by John. It does not forgive sins. The elements of the Old Testament repentance is different from the elements of the New Testament repentance which forgives past sins.

4. The baptism of repentance is a preparation for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. The latter is impossible without passing through the former. The spiritual life goes this way; first, one must live the life of repentance as taught by St. John the Baptist. Secondly, one must follow it up with living the life of repentance of the New Testament thus receiving the theological virtue of Faith that enables the soul to have the beginnings of Charity that leads to salvation. This order must be followed strictly. One cannot go to the second or third without living the previous step. This will explain the mess in the US Catholic Church; in that Poor Francis and the bishops are going against the life of repentance or the Baptism of St. John. Thus they are unable to put into practice the Baptism of Jesus Christ.

5. Let us see the Baptisms of John and of Jesus Christ; and show how Pope Francis and the FrancisBishops, especially in the US, are going against this teaching of Scriptures.
Confession, an element of the life of repentance, must be a free act by the penitent towards his confessor, and it must be shrouded in secrecy so that the confessor cannot reveal what is confessed. Today it is not so. The penitent is investigated, his sins are revealed not only to the press but to a prosecutor. He is listed down and his name given to an investigator and the sinner is publicly reprimanded and punished. This is neither the baptism of John nor of Christ. The erroneous exercise of the command on repentance is preventing both the bishops and Pope Francis from proceeding towards Faith. With this error, the entire institutional church remains Faithless, totally incapable of saving souls.
The way the problem of the bishops in the US is being handled is very unCatholic. And the reaction of the bishop's conference around the world is, also, unFatholic. This is why there is problem in the Catholic Church, because the Catholic Church is behaving in a very unCatholic way in solving her own problems. And no problem is being solved.
Why is God allowing the sins of the bishops to be well publicised? So that the Federal prosecutors, instead of the neglectful church, will force the sinful bishops to repent since they will not repent on their own.
It is for the same reason why God allows capital punishment. To force the murderers to repent since the bishops and parish priest of the criminals have neglected teaching them how to repent. Now Pope Francis and many bishops and priests want to abolish the capital punishment and remove the last attempt to force criminals to repent and save their souls. Pope Francis and those opposed to capital punishment have just condemned these poor criminals to the eternal fires of hell.

6. The Baptism of Christ is of fire and the Holy Spirit.
It is not possible to receive the Baptism of Christ without first receiving the Baptism of water. Since most have not received the Baptism of water preached by John the Baptist, it is not possible to receive the Baptism of Christ. Most of the Charismatics are not truly Catholics for this reason; not having received the Baptism of John, they cannot receive the Baptism of fire and the Holy Spirit.
It is the Baptism of Christ that allows us to enter the Catholic Church. It is because of this that most Catholics who think they are Catholics are actually outside the Catholic Church. And no one is telling them the truth.

THE MAGI and The Infant Church.

 1. The Liturgy.
The Liturgy recalls the time three wise men sought the King of the Jews and travelled to Bethlehem where they found the Child with His mother. The wise men had the beginnings of Faith in that they were searching for the King of the Jews. They believed in the humanity of Jesus. When they found the babe with His mother, they believed that He was, also God. Not by the way He looks but because His birth was announced by a star. In which case they offered gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
While Joseph, Mary and Joseph make up the true Church, the three wise men make up the infant Church together with Joseph, Mary and in union with Christ through Faith.
Note that all of them at that time had the theological virtue of Faith. They believed that Jesus was man and God. That makes them the infant Catholic Church with Christ as its Head.
 2. The Eschatology meaning of the events.
Satan, using the evil Herod and the Pharisee had Jesus killed. A babe?  They feared that a baby might take away the kingdom of Herod? An unfounded fear. What they  feared was not being able to continue to do the desires of the flesh. A fear that the child will save sinners from their sins.
The devil would later try to prevent Christ  from being crucified to redeem the world; but the devil will now try to kill Jesus as a babe to prevent Him from growing up and save the world. The devil failed in both. He was not able to prevent Christ from being crucified to redeem the world; and he was not able to kill Jesus as a child and prevent Him from growing up to save the world.
The feast of the wise men shows that the devil will attempt to kill the Faith of the infant Churches by killing their infant Faith before it grows up.  When the Church grows to maturity God may allow the devil to assist in the mystical crucifixion of the Church prior to her glorious Resurrection.

3. The death of the Holy Innocents is an attempt to kill the Faith of the infant Church.
The devil, using King Herod, kills the babies, only, with God's permission.  Eschatologically, the babies killed is a type of TWO groups. All of them were killed during the infancy of their Faith, before they can develop the theological virtue of Faith. They are all aiming at Faith but killed before they acquire the maturity of Faith thus are unable to enter the Church to be full Catholics.
The Catholic Church founded by the apostles was like the massacred babies. The killing of the first Christians was Satan's attempt to destroy the Church in her infancy;  with persecutions and with heresies. Some Christians were killed physically just like the babies, others died spiritually through heresies. Both died in some way. Two groups represent the killed babies; the religious orders and the lay, secular communities that make up the rest of the  Catholic Church.
The first group is made up of the religious orders. These are the first organised Christian communities. Many of their members had the wrong idea that upon entering the order they are already Catholics. No. One enters an order to be able to enter the Catholic Church. The orders are the places within which souls learn to and enter the Catholic Church.
4. The organised religious communities.
These are  the Benedictines, the Jesuits, the Dominicans, the Franciscans, the Augustinians, etc. These religious communities were started by their founders to enable souls to be born within the Church. And probably most of them had the initial degrees of Faith when they entered. But Satan, using the world,  killed their Faith  as they were only beginning; thus it is said that Herod, mystically,  killed the Faith of those beginning to enter the Church.
This is clearly shown in the fact that religious orders had almost lost the spirit of the founder as soon as the founder passed away. In the case of St. Francis of Assisi, the Franciscans lost the spirit of their founder Francis, while the saint was still alive due to Bro. Elias. This is a pattern in almost all religious orders. They were like spiritual babes whose Faith were massacred by the devil at an early age of the spiritual life.

5.  The secular institutes and the new emerging communities.
Another group who started with noble aims, the salvation of their souls, are the secular institutes. The Opus Dei, the Foccolare, the Neo-catechumenical, the Charismatics, etc. They started with good intentions but due to lack of proper instruction, their Faith was killed even before they were spiritually born. Unlike the orders above, these groups were spiritually aborted while still in the womb.

6. Proofs of the eschatological image of the massacred babies is that both groups described above, the orders and ecclesial groups do not have the four visible signs of the true Church mentioned in the Nicene Creed. Most of the Christian communities, like the Opus Dei, Foccolare, etc., had been spiritually massacred during the infancy of their Faith.

7. The Catholic Church expects the mystery of Holy Innocents to be fulfilled these days, again.
The devils, through their co-horts like Herod tries to kill the spirit of Faith at its inception in these communities and had been successful as in the day of Herod. And continues to do so up to now. All evil men, under the influence of the devil,  kills the small Faith of  emerging communities. It is done today as Pope Francis had been suppressing theFaith of communities which he started with the Franciscans of the Immaculate. The Franciscan is a young community  of Franciscan. And a host of many emerging communities had been suppressed. The Faith of the entire Catholic Church had been killed with Pope Francis' first papal exhortation on 'love without dogma.' He has killed the infant Faith of his Anglican friend by discouraging him to convert to the Catholic Faith. He has killed the Faith of many by encouraging them to remain in their sins specially with the guilty US bishops. He has killed the Faith of the Chinese underground Catholics by forcing them to subject themselves to atheistic communist doctrines. He had encouraged adulterers, sodomites, sexual perverts to remain spiritually dead. He had silence those who preach the truths, the latest was Fr. Goring; thus starving souls to death. All the weak of Faith are starved in that he does not feed them with the Words of life. He feeds them with the poison of heresies.

8. The Child Jesus is safe.
Joseph and Mary protecting Jesus is the type of the Church within which Faith is born, nourished and matures. The state of the institutional Church today shows that the Faith had not been born, nourished and matured. The absence of fraternal Charity shows the Faith had been massacred.
So where is the Church? Like Christ during the time of Herod, Joseph and Mary had fled and hidden Him. Where? The Book of Revelation writes, in the desert.
Pope Benedict had been trying to protect the emerging communities of Faith. But like the mothers, the children had been killed as of today.  He had encouraged all the ecclesial communities putting them under the protection of the Congregation of religious and secular institutes. But they still lost their Faith because of the present Herod in Pope Francis and his FrancisBishops.
Pope Benedict had always asked bishops during their 'ad lumina'  visits whether they have young emerging communities in their locality. He took great interest in such young, new communities just as the Magi looked for the child born King of the Jews. He was, also, looking for the infant Faith of the Church to head it as Pope.
Pope Benedict looked for the infant Churches to protect and encourage them,  Pope Francis is like Herod who looks for these communities to slay them by making them communists.

9. The institutional Church vs the true Church.
It looks like a devastated war ravaged land with neither Faith nor Charity. A devastated vineyard as Scriptures would describe it. Which Christ would certainly abandon and offer to other husbandmen.
And where is the true Church? Still with its four visible signs of One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic, She was brought to the desert by God, Himself, in a special place where she is protected from the evils that beset the world today; especially from the evils from the man of sin described by St. John the Evangelist in his first letter, that will certainly come from the institutional Catholic Church but who does not hold a single doctrine or morals taught by Christ and the Fathers of the Church.

A BURNING ISSUE - On the Papacy.

 1. A burning issue.
No matter how we try to avoid the topic, it just keeps on coming up. And we cannot but avoid throwing in our two cents worth of thought.
This is the issue on who is the Pope of the Catholic Church today. The issue is a burning issue because he who answers it correctly will go to heaven; while he who answers it wrongly goes to hell. Why? Because the answer is directed towards an article of Faith. The right answer will show that the person has the theological virtue of Faith and thus will be saved. And the wrong answer will show that the person is sinning against Faith and therefore will go to hell. So, this issue is no small matter. It is a matter of heaven or hell.
Every soul concerned with the salvation of his soul must resolve this issue. The bishop who points to the right person as Pope is leading his diocese in the right path. The bishop who points to the wrong person is leading his diocese to schism. So it has become of the utmost importance that this issue on who is the true Pope must be resolved soonest.
2. This was not a problem before but it has become a problem several times in the history of the Church.
It has happened that several times, the Catholic church have had several Popes at the same time, which cannot be. There must only be one Pope. Some time before, there were two or even three Popes. And it was impossible for most, even for bishops, to point out who was the true Pope. It usually took a saint to point him out. What if there is no saint.

3. Five versus two Popes.
Today, there are more than five claiming to be Pope of the Catholic Church. One is the main contender.  But the other is claimed by many as the real Pope. The former has the election by the last Conclave as its main defence. The latter has the invalidity of the last Conclave as its main argument. But let us go deeper into the issue because up to the present, the arguments used are not fully convincing. Yet, the issue must be resolved because it takes an act of Faith to resolve it and the very salvation of soul is involved in the process of choosing.

4. Choosing a Pope is an act of Faith.
To say,'he is the true Pope,' is identical to saying 'that is the true God,'  and 'that is the true religion.' To accept one of that statement is an act of Faith. If that Faith is directed to a wrong direction, like a wrong god or a wrong religion, then it becomes a very serious sin. So in the present situation where suddenly there seems to be two Popes, a Bishop's guidance is critical. He can either direct his flock towards true Faith or towards schism. This is no laughing matter. It is serious. And yet, most bishops and priest are not making a stand; or worse, making the wrong stand.
In this post, we shall briefly review the present stand of each side. And then, go to Scriptures and the Fathers of the Church to make the correct Catholic stand.

5. The current stand.
When Pope Francis was elected Pope, all Catholics accepted him as the valid Pope of the Catholic church. And that is still the stand of most Catholic. Catholic, de fide, believe that he is the true Pope. This belief is an act of Faith and, therefore, it must conform to an act of mature Faith with the right object and it must have the element of certainty. But most Catholics believe that Francis is Pope not from any act of mature Faith, but merely out of popularity, personal liking, or purely out of poor knowledge of one's religion. It is like choosing a popular artist, actor, NBA player, etc. Their acceptance of Pope Francis is not out of personal mature Faith.
Because, their belief in Pope Francis as Pope was not out of a personal mature act of Faith, it is not well founded and can easily be lost. Well, even genuine Faith can be lost. How much more a fake faith. And most of the Catholic's belief in Pope Francis as Pope is shallow and based, merely, on popularity contest or out of habit in believing that all Popes are popes. One can easily make a mistake.  And, today, many are committing a mistake.
6. The destruction of a fake Faith.
Since most belief in Francis as Pope are not an act of Faith, as it should be, it has been easily shaken by recent events. It should have been shaken even from the very beginnings of his papacy with his heretical speech on 'love without dogma.' It should have been shaken even more when Cardinal Arinze declared him a heretic. It should have been completely devastated with the first Synod of Bishops on the family when the entire Bishop's Synod completely rejected the proposal of Pope Francis as heretical. All those who rejected Pope Francis' proposal during that Synod should have suspected that he was not the true Pope.
The papacy of Francis should have been completely doubted with the 'dubia' that has remained unanswered after more than 800 days,  and even more so with the exposure by Archbishops Vigano and Mons. Bux. There should have been no doubt as to the invalidity of his papacy with his heretical stands, like indifferentism, liberality, communistic tendencies, masonic stands, abolition of the death penalty from the catechism and the declaration that there is no hell and May was not immaculate.
With all these proofs to the erroneous teachings of Pope Francis, the spectre was raised that he is not the valid Pope.  This is fortified when a group rigged the last Conclave election that elected him. And all the above arguments were put together and crowned with the fact that the resignation of Pope Benedict is believed as not an actual resignation but a feigned act attempt to ferry out the expected 'man of sin.' and expose him in the light of truth.
7. Suddenly, the alternative was raised.
If Pope Francis is not the valid Pope, then who is the true Pope? No one comes to mind except the previous Pope whose resignation has been put to doubt; Pope Benedict XVI.  But the above arguments, though very strong in favour of the previous Pope, does not resolve the issue because the reasons advanced are not part of Scriptures nor the Fathers of the Church, i.e. not according to the dogmas of the Catholic Church.

8. The mature act of Faith.
To point and recognise the true Pope is an act of Faith. It is identical to pointing and recognising the true God and pointing and recognising the true religion. To point to the true Pope is not a guess work, it is not even a philosophical, metaphysical or ontological process. It is definitely not a political process, just because he is duly elected. No. It is an act of mature Faith from each one. As such, judgment must be based on well founded theological truths.
So far, the present heated discussion going on on who is the true Pope is based on well founded reasonings but not as an act of Faith. Recognising the true Pope is an act of religion; therefore, it must be an act of Faith.
As noted, very few are involved in the present discussion because of the complexity of the issues involved. But it can be simplified as all Catholic truths are simple, though very deep. And we want to reduce the reasonings for all to understand and make a stand and confess their Faith precisely because this stand is a matter of salvation.

9. Present situation.
The present situation is bad. All sides have chosen the Pope of their choice based on personal liking, popularity and as victims of public relation efforts.
The arguments of certain sides are getting better, more profound, more philosophical, psychological, and canonically sound. But most of them have not touch the theological level. Every reasoning is still, merely, in the natural and human level; not spiritual or Scriptural or theological.
Most bishops could not resolve the past problem when there were many Popes at the same time. Their inability is due to their lack of Faith. The many popes was, in fact,  Divine Chastisement for their lack of Faith. The same is happening today. Catholics do not know who is the true Pope because they lack Faith. This issue can only be resolved by an act of Faith.

10. The winning side.
    Pope Benedict vs Pope Francis.
When there were three Popes, how did they  resolve the issue. If all the three were men of Faith, they would know who is the true Pope and the other two will withdraw from the papacy. A man of Faith will not remain to be a false Pope. But a faithless man will insist in being Pope even if he is not.
The ultimate test in finding out who is the true Pope is to find out who have the signs of true Catholicity having the four visible signs as enumerated in the Nicene Creed. He will be proven to be the true Pope. Those without the four visible signs cannot be popes because they cannot take orders validly.

Who has the four signs. Only one can have it, not all three. Any two who has Faith would give up the papal office as St. Hypollitus, the anti-pope, did to give way to the true Pope,  St. Pontian. Being a person with Faith, Hypollitus gave up his claim to the papacy because by Faith he knew that it was Pontian who was the true Pope. He gave in to St. Pontian and for this became a saint, himself. That was better than being a Pope or an anti-pope.
In the present situation where people feel there are two Popes, surely one with the four visible signs has Faith and, therefore, is the true Pope while the other who will not resign because he has no Faith cannot be Pope.

11. Conclusion
To recognise and point to the true Pope is a mature act of Faith and, therefore, meritorious act deserving of salvation. To point to the wrong person is a sin against the theological virtue of Faith and, therefore, deserving of damnation. Everyone should be involved in this very important issue and arm themselves with the truths found in Scriptures and the Fathers of the Church. With these as aids the probability is great that you will make an act of mature Faith, point to the right person as the true Pope. And become deserving of eternal salvation for your act of mature Faith.
In this post, we have not stated who is the true Catholic Pope. We are just saying that there is a very serious discussion going on this issue and the arguments pointing at the invalidity of the election of Pope Francis is strong. We are hoping that each Catholic  seriously resolve this issue because the very salvation of their souls depend on it.

THE HOLY NAME OF JESUS. Thursday in Christmastide.

 1. The Liturgy.
The Christmastide liturgical season is a continuation of the Christ the King liturgy wherewith Christians are reminded to be perfectly ready for the final general judgment of God. Readiness consist in having perfect repentance, perfect Faith and the beginnings of Charity.
The beginnings of Charity is the ability to be able to teach one's neighbour how to go to heaven. Whether the neighbour obeys or not is immaterial. But a true Christian must be able to teach his neighbour how to go to heaven. Which presumes that he, himself, has learned how to go to heaven and have obeyed the commands of Christ on how to go to heaven.

2. This perfect repentance, perfect Faith and the beginnings of Charity is reached when God gives the Christian a 'new name.' This new name was given to Abraham. When he had reached perfect Faith and the beginnings of Charity and by entertaining angels, God changed his name and gave him a new name.
It happened, also, go St. John the Baptist. Since the visit of Mary with Christ still unborn, John while still in Elizabeth's womb, not needing the perfect of repentance, achieved the perfection of Faith and the beginnings of Charity, both infused virtues,  through the grace he received by the power of the Holy Spirit through the presence of Christ in Mary. Thus the angel commanded Zacharias to give the babe a name that came from God. His name will be John.
And Christ will be born without the need for perfect repentance, too. He will have perfect Faith and perfect Charity because He is God. Therefore, He received His name from God through the angel.  His name will be Jesus.
God giving names to certain persons is a phenomenon in Scriptures. The names are given to those who will surely go to heaven. The Book of Revelation states that those who truly become Christians will have a new name from God that will be written in a tablet which no one can read except the person to whom that name will be given.
3. Religious practice.
This giving of a new name was a way by which a soul was consecrated to God. This assures the salvation of his soul. It presumes that he has the theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Charity. Thus receiving a new name from God is an assurance of salvation. It is given when a person has acquired the beginnings of Charity, after he has perfected his repentance and perfected his Faith. Another way of describing the state of this soul is that 'he will see the face of God,' as the psalms states.
The giving of a new name is so important it has become part of Baptism an during professions in religious orders. To remind Christians that our goal is to be able to receive a new name from God.

4. Why did Christ undergo circumcision?
First, to show humility in obedience to the Old Testament.
Second, to show that He is human in that He followed human customs.
Thirdly, but He showed His divinity in that His name came from God through the angels. But the most important reason Christ was circumcised is to demonstrate the necessity of receiving this new name from God.

5. Spiritual circumcision.
The Old Testament circumcision wherein a portion of the foreskin was cut off, had been raised to the spiritual level in the New Testament. It refers to the cutting off of all desires for the pleasures of the flesh.
This will take a long time to do. It needs a lot of laborious ascetical practices and the observance of the Evangelical Counsels. When this is accomplished then God gives us a new name written in a while tablet which only the soul can read, the Book of Revelation states. It is a surety of one's personal salvation.

6. Given on the 8th day.
The 8th day is Sunday representing Easter Sunday when Christ Resurrected from the dead. The 8th day, also, is the time all souls destined to go to heaven, receive their resurrected bodies and go to heaven to live with God for all eternity.
But before any soul reaches the 8th day, he must undergo the 7th day. This is the day of rest for all souls who have laboured successfully for the salvation of their souls. And before the soul undergo the 7th day, he must pass the 6th day. The 6th day is the present time where the Church will undergo her Good Friday.

7. Good Friday, the 6th day.
The 6th day is today. Like on Good Friday, the world is dark in that nobody knows the truths on how to go to heaven. When the High priests representing Pope Francis and most of the Pharisees representing the Bishops and priests are sinners and, therefore, are unable to lead souls to the salvation of their souls. Where the world is teaching that right is wrong and wrong is right; while punishing those who do right and rewarding those who do wrong.
Where, like on Good Friday, none of the true apostles were preaching 'for fear of the Jews.' It is a time when the whole world are against Christ and the Church. Where the Church is full of traitors and everyone who is Christlike is suppressed.
It is a time when the knowledge on  how to be saved is impossible to learn unless God gives it directly to men in the form of graces.
This day is described as the day of 'great distress.' And those who survive it will have a special place in heaven, according to the Book of Revelation.

8. A small Church.
It will be a very small Church. It is described  in the last chapter of the Gospel of John when only 7 apostles where in the boat, lowering their fishing nets only on the right side while the sea was very calm. And catching 153 fishes, the mystical description of those numbered to be saved. The Church is further described during the Liturgical celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a mystery rejected by Pope Francis, and the Liturgical celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe whose portrait Pope Francis misinterpreted.

9. The Holy Name of Jesus.
Only when we reach the 8th day of the spiritual life can we, also, receive a new name. And since the name will come from God, it will, also, be a holy name.

Monday - 7th day of Christmas Octave and commemoration of St. Sylvester. THE ANTI-CHRIST.

 1. St. John's Letter and Gospel.
The Liturgy today, Christmas octave, is a continuation of Christ the King. The Liturgy speaks about preparing for the General Judgment by Christ. This preparation prepares us both for our individual personal death and for the final General Judgment. In the former, there is still purgatory. In the latter, there is no purgatory so we must be perfect during the final General Judgment.
The two readings for today is taken, first, from the 1st letter of St. John the Evangelist and the Gospel is taken from the beginning of the Gospel of St. John the Evangelist. These are the readings for today's Mass, Monday of the 7th day of Christmas octave.
2. The Last Gospel during the Old Mass.
St. John, the profound theologian, always summarised the whole plan of salvation as prologue of his Epistles or Gospel. He did this in both readings today.
The beginning of the Gospel of St. John was always read as the last Gospel in the old Mass. After Vatican II it is all gone in the new Masses. Why was it there in the old Masses in the first place?
The beginnings of John's Gospel which was read as the last Gospel of the Old Mass begins with, 'In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God.' In the middle it says, 'And the Word was made flesh.' And it ends with 'And to those who did accept Him he gave them power to become children of God...by the decision of God.'
The beginning of John's Gospel was read as the last Gospel in every Mass in the Old Mass because it summarised the way of salvation and it summarised the mystery of the Mass. It , also, summarised how to enter the Catholic Church. So when Catholics left after the Old Mass, they knew the summary of salvation, the summary on how to enter the Church and the summary of the Mass. The last Gospel taken from the beginning of the Gospel of John was the summary. All Catholics knew from the Liturgy of the Mass the way of salvation, the way to enter the Church and understood the mystery of the Mass.
Now,  no one knows anything of the above; neither layman, priest, bishop, nor Pope Francis.
Today's Gospel is very lengthily commented on by St. Thomas of Aquinas. We shall lay it aside for the meantime and go to the first reading which is from the Epistle of St. John.

3. The 1st Epistle of St. John the Evangelist.
It begins with a prologue that describes what must be done to attain everlasting life in heaven; 'that you may attain fellowship with God and with Christ and that your joy may be complete.'
Then, it summarises what must be done; ' to avoid sin and to obey Christ's commandments. This is followed by a description of specific members of the Catholic community and why they were considered as inside the Catholic Church. This is a big help for each one of us so we can know if we are truly inside the Catholic Church.
John, then, describes the coming of many anti-Christ but specially described one.

4. The three general steps to being a Catholic and entering heaven.
First, is to perfect one's life of repentance. Secondly, to perfect one's Faith. Third, to have, at least, the beginnings of Charity. Then he warned all to 'test all the spirits' if it is of God; because there are many false teachers and prophets.
Then, John consoles the soul by saying that with perfect Faith you can overcome all evils including the most evil who will exist in the world, the anti-Christ, who will appear before the General Judgment.

5. There will be many anti-Christs.
How will they look like? They will teach mankind to go against or contradict the commandments of Christ; thus the word anti-Christ. Christ was contradicted since the beginnings of His existence here on earth. There is Nero, Hitler, Lenin, Bill Gates, Obama, Chairman Mao, etc. They all went against the moral and dogmatic teachings of Christ.
But John warns the Christian Church of especially one anti-Christ. He will be the most evil human being that will ever exist. And his existence will spell the approaching final General Judgment day.

6. The final anti-Christ.
He will, almost, make it impossible for everyone to know the truth, to enter the Catholic Church or to save one's soul. This is because of the great evil with which he will be invested with. For those truly inside the Catholic Church, it is important to recognise the anti-Christ. They alone can overcome him with their perfect Faith.
In Christian literature the topic on the anti-Christ is greatly discussed. However, the discussion had caused more confusion than clarification. Let it be said in an easier way that only those with the theological virtue of Faith will be able to recognise the anti-Christ and avoid being overwhelmed by him. The prayer of Compline reminds the Christian every day that it is only with strengthened Faith that this evil man can be overcome.

7. John's description of the anti-Christ.
The anti-Christ will be an individual imbued with all the evils of Satan. He is not Nero, Hitler, Stalin, or Obama though they would have some resemblance with the anti-Christ. St. John clearly described him as visibly a  Catholic man; 'he comes from us'. He will clearly be recognised as a Catholic person coming from the Catholic Church.
He cannot be a mere layman since this can be found in all religions.  He cannot be a priests of a bishop because other sects like the Anglicans and other Protestant sects dress up like priests and bishops. He must be easily recognised because only the Catholic Church has one like him.  He must be a Pope.
Though he is evidently from the Catholic Church being the head of the Catholic Church, St. John writes, his dogmatic and moral teachings are contrary or different from the teachings of Christ.

8. Pope Francis as of today fits this description.
His first papal address goes against the dogma teachings on the theological virtues. His 'Amoris laetitia' go against the moral teachings of God. His denial of the existence of hell and his abolition of the death penalty go against the dogmatic teaching of the Catholic Catechism. And lately, his statement rejected the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Practically everything he said from the beginning of his papacy up to the present are against the dogma and morals taught by Christ in the New Testament. Pope Francis is visibly the head of the Catholic Church whose teachings are all contrary the teachings of Christ. He is exactly the person described by John in his 1st letter.
Because this Liturgical season is preparing the Christian soul for the final battle, St. John warns the members of the Christian community 'do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world the Love of God is not in him.' Pope Francis speaks only about loving the world and other worldly concerns like global warming. He never went up to the supernatural level in all his talks. He, not only loves the world; he loves the sins of the world like adulterers, heretics like Luther, communists, Protestant charismatics, gays, transgenders.... etc.
Then John warns that there will be many anti-Christ.  There are many cardinals, bishops and priest who follow the unchristian behaviour and beliefs of Pope Francis. These people will just lead their parishes and dioceses to hell.
But here is a sign that  this is the last hour, John writes. 'The anti-Christ went out from us but they were not really of our number.'
'If they had been our members, they would have remained with us. Their desertion shows that none of them was of our number. But you have the  anointing that comes from the holy one, and you have all knowledge.'
'Having all knowledge' true members of the Catholic Church will know who the anti-Christ is. They will not follow him. They will reject him. They will have nothing to do with him. And they will expose him to the rest of the world for what he is, an anti-Christ.

9. The rest of the world will be in darkness during these days.
Note the two characteristics of the anti-Christ; he is clearly a member of the Catholic Church (not in the spiritual sense) and secondly he will go against all the dogmatic and moral teachings of Christ as taught in the New Testament, and as interpreted by the Fathers of the Church.
The whole world, because it has no Faith, cannot know the teachings of Christ. So they cannot know if a person is disobeying the teachings of Christ. Thus they will not be able to recognise the anti-Christ. As such they will end up obeying the anti-Christ unto their damnation.
