THE CHURCH is a house of prayer.

 1. The Church.
These past Sundays and weekday Masses had been describing the 'kingdom of God' in parables. 'The kingdom of God' is the Catholic Church while it is here on earth. And these last Masses in Ordinary Time, prelude to the Feast of Christ the King the last Sunday in Ordinary Time, had been describing the state of the priests of the Catholic Church during these last days. The picture is not pretty. Up to now, not a single Gospel had spoken well of the Catholic bishops and priests.
Good Friday had been the prophecy  describing these end times.

2. Bishops and priests who do not pray.
Man is physical and spiritual. God takes this into consideration and demands that we worship Him in body and soul. And Christ clarifies this lesson  while teaching both the crowd and His disciples. Keep in mind that Christ gives easy lessons to the crowd while giving the deeper, more important lessons to His disciples.
Prayer is one of the most important teachings of Christ. He teaches its physical aspects and its spiritual aspects. The latter is more important than the former.
The physical aspects of prayer are the position of the hands in prayer, where to pray, what to wear, how loud must your voice be, what words to use, etc. These are the visible aspects of prayer.
Then there is the spiritual aspects, like what is in your mind while praying and what is in your heart; since spiritually, prayer is the raising of your mind and heart to God and it is important to note the state of your mind and heart while praying.

3. Old Testament rules on prayer.
In the Old Testament, most of the lessons on prayer are on the externals or physical aspects of prayer; like where to pray, what to offer in prayer, what to wear while praying, the posture in praying, etc. In the New Testament, the lessons on prayer are on the spiritual and internal aspects of prayer; like what are your thinking and desiring while praying.

4. The external aspects of prayer.
Scriptures have many external aspects of prayer. Even in the New Testament it is taught that it is important to pray in community, in solitude and in silence. The reason why there are so many external rules on prayer is to prevent idolatry which can easily occur during prayer. When a person uses too much of his five senses while praying, he easily falls into idolatry; this is the reason why idolatry is so common. It is inherent in human nature because of our external senses.
The old Catholic Churches were usually built with high windows and thick walls to minimize sensual stimuli. The high window closed with stain glass is to prevent our senses from being distracted with outside, worldly thoughts. And the stain glass is to foster spiritual thoughts. In order words, old churches were built to prevent the senses from seeing the world outside so the mind and free will can concentrate on heavenly thoughts. This is not followed in modern church constructions so the minds of men are filled with worldly thoughts.
The senses are easily distracted with worldly things in church; because the senses see the trees, the birds, the sun, and other men....then man tend to worship these things ending in idolatry.

5. Christ in the temple.
In the Gospel where Christ drove out the sellers in the temple HE was showing that from henceforward, all external and physical aspects of prayer must be minimized and all concentration must be in the spiritual aspects of prayer. Because today man tends to pray for money, man tends to  worship money and become idolaters of money. So Christ drives away all sellers of cows, oxen, goats, sheep, doves, and overturned all tables scattering the coins, etc.
This is an enumeration of all the things that fill the mind and hearts of men that prevents them from praying properly. The Gospel is pointing out that specially the bishops and priests today are of the kind that their minds and hearts are filled with worldly, mundane things rather than heavenly things. The Gospel is a condemnation of the state of the priesthood today. And it includes Pope Francis. Because the mind and heart are filled with the garbage of worldly concern, this garbage had become the god; the world is once more guilty of idolatry.

6. Present concern.
What are the concerns of Pope Francis and most of the Bishops and priests?  Perverted sex in the sins of adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, same sex marriage.  Pope Francis, many bishops and Catholic schools are practically adoring these idolatrous sins.
Nature, ecology, global warming fill the minds and hearts rather than spiritual thoughts. So they end up worshipping the world. The Mass had been practically reduced into a sensual event entertaining the senses. Bishops and priest are more concerned on how their physical churches look like rather than how the kingdom of God look like before the eyes of God. The Vatican Church had become the largest idol worshipper and the most popular god is money.

7. The Pharisees in the temple.
It is said that the Jewish people followed the external and  physical aspect of prayer by offering sacrifices in the temple; like they were offering bulls, oxen, sheep, doves, etc. But travelers could not bring these offering all the way from their homes to the temple. So the Pharisees put up stores for travelers. The stores were in the temple and they sold what was needed for the offerings, bulls, oxen, sheep.......and probably even cold soft drinks.
The pilgrims, then, offered these animals. The Pharisees offered the prescribed offerings and then resold the offering to other pilgrims thus making a lot of income for selling the same merchandize repeatedly. Can you imagine the amount of income that can generate. It is just like the Vatican Bank, IOR, money laundering or accepting Mafia money. Or it is like Francis Pope granting private audiences to the likes of Di Carpio for fat checks on Global warming or even fatter checks for flooding Europe with immigrants. And this is without mentioning when the Vatican transforms the Mass into a pure robotic Mass with compliments from the Benedictine Liturgist from Sant'Anselmo at the Aventine.

8. My house is a house of prayer.
The Gospel describes the Catholic Church as the 'kingdom of God.' And this 'kingdom of God' must be a house of prayer. This means that every individual human being in this Church must use all his minds in thinking of God and heavenly things and use all his heart in desiring to love God......all the time. This is the description of the Catholic Church......it is a house of prayer where all the minds and all the hearts of its members are raised to God.  It is definitely not the description of Pope Francis and most of his bishops.
Christ must be somewhere around the Vatican and most dioceses and parishes with a whip............

The PHARISEE PREACHER - 31th Sunday in Ordinary time.

 1. The Sundays approaching the feast of Christ the King.
The Feast of Christ the King is the end of the Liturgical season. It teaches us that there will an end to everything and the end will be followed by a general judgment wherein all men will be individually judged by God whether he deserves to go to heaven or to hell.
As we approach the end of the Liturgical season, Holy Mother the Church is reminding us of a very important truth; the kingdom of God. Are we inside or outside the kingdom of God? This kingdom is the Catholic Church. And the Liturgy in these last three months had been describing everything pertaining to the kingdom of God. All the Gospels were about the kingdom of God.
The one specific topic about the kingdom of God that is most discussed in the Gospels of these last Sundays is about the bishops and priests, who today will be the Pharisee preachers.

2. Escathology.
The Gospels had been saying that the bishops and the priests during these times will be ignorant, unfaithful, uncharitable, bad, if not downright  traitors to the Church.   This was the prophesy on Good Friday and it is what is happening right now. On Good Friday, all the priest; the high priest, all the pharisees, scribes, etc were unfaithful, bad and killers of the Christ. The bishops and priest of today will be no different, if not worse. They will be like the Pharisees during the time of Christ.  And this defect can go up to  his holiness Pope Francis, who in prophecy is Judas. It is the prophecy in the New Testament; therefore, it should be fulfilled. Add to this prophecy the fact that one of the first bishop personally appointed by Christ would be a traitor; thus prophesying the fact that a bishop can rise up to be an anti-pope and become a traitor to the Catholic religion.
So what evil things happened on Good Friday can, eschatologically happen again today, and  even worse.

3. The pharisee preacher.
The worse thing that happened during Christ's time is that God's preacher, the Pharisees, were bad preachers. Of course, considering the worsening state of our times they will be worse than the Pharisees
Let us look at the Pharisees. Christ said; ' they succeeded Moses as teachers.' They were teaching the Jewish people the literal meaning of Scriptures. But being in the Old Testament they were not able to teach the spiritual meaning of the Words of God. The mere teaching of the literal meaning of the Words of God cannot save. It is the spiritual meaning of the Words of God that saves; and the first apostles taught both the literal and spiritual meaning of the Words of God. But the Pharisees, though they heard the teachings of Christ could not teach the spiritual meaning of the Words of God. Again, the mere knowledge of the literal meaning of the Words of God cannot save because the true message of the Words of God is in the spiritual meaning.
Christ was praising the Pharisees in that, at least, they could teach the literal meaning of the Words of God.  And Christ told His listeners to learn from the Pharisees the mere literal meaning of the Words of God because later on they could learn the spiritual meaning directly from God or from the coming apostles.
But if the listeners are ignorant both of the spiritual and literal meaning of the Words of God, knowing the message of Christ on salvation becomes impossible because the elements that make the act of Faith is missing; i.e. knowledge of the deep spiritual meaning of the message of Christ.

4. Today, preachers are worse than the Pharisees.
For one thing they do not preach the spiritual meaning of the Words of God which can be found in Tradition or the Fathers of the Church. This is no longer taught in seminaries or theological schools. The literal meaning of the words of God are still read in the first reading during the Mass. So, And the people should be encourage to listen to them as they seat in the seat of Moses.
But we have come at a time when the literal meaning is not understood because souls are not fertile ground; thus most souls receive neither the literal nor the spiritual meaning of the Word of God. Worse still, they receive teachings contrary to both the literal and spiritual meaning of the Words of God. Like when Pope Francis said in a sermon that Christ prefers new wine to old wine container rather than old wine in old wine container. And even though he went against both the spiritual and literal meaning of the words of Christ in the Gospel, not one of the cardinal or bishop attending the Mass squirmed.
Today we have preachers worse than the Pharisees because they do not teach the literal message of Christ in the New Testament. So, absolutely nobody can enter the Catholic Church. Without the literal message, souls cannot have Faith. Without the spiritual message they cannot have Charity.

'MERCY' as defined in the Beatitudes - ALL SAINTS DAY.

 1. The Beatitudes.
The Beatitudes are the different degrees of holiness. They are all signs of holiness, from the beginning up to the end. To be a saint in heaven you must have at least one of the Beatitudes. So in the process of canonization the first question asked is 'what Beatitude did he/she practice?'
No one can progress to the second Beatitude without passing through the first Beatitude. The second Beatitude is a consequence in the perfecting of the first Beatitude. This is the case in all the rest of the Beatitudes; so that the fifth Beatitude 'Blessed are the merciful,' cannot be practiced unless one passes through the first, second, third and fourth Beatitude. No one can be 'merciful' nor can he receive mercy unless he has practiced the four previous Beatitudes. 'Blessed are the merciful for they shall be shown mercy.' Note that one has to be merciful so that mercy can, likewise be shown to him; i.e. he must be merciful before God can be merciful to him.
Again, no one can show mercy nor can he receive mercy unless, first, he is poor in spirit; secondly, he mourns; thirdly, he is meek; fourth he hunger and thirst for righteousness. Then and only then can he practice mercy and as a reward will be shown mercy by God. This is well explained by St. Augustine in his treatise on the Beatitudes and elaborated by St. Thomas of Aquinas in a treatise of the same title.
Each phrase, 'poor in spirit', 'mourns', 'meek', 'hunger and thirst for righteousness' and Mercy' had been defined clearly that we can easily detect a fake. And the 'mercy' of Pope Francis is a fake. It is probably Argentinean, but definitely it is not Catholic because it does not jibe with 'mercy' as used in the Beatitudes.

2. Reasons why it is impossible for most, including Pope Francis, to be merciful to receive the mercy of God.
For any one to be merciful and be worthy to receive the mercy of God he must go through these following gradual steps. First, he must be poor in spirit. St. Thomas wrote; to be poor in spirit means to have nothing worldly or mundane in your mind and to have nothing worldly in your heart. Your intellect and your heart must have no worldly concerns, except for what is necessary, namely, food, clothing and shelter. The spirit must be concerned only with heavenly things; poor in worldly things but rich in heavenly things.
With this Beatitude alone we will find it  almost impossible for most people to practice this first Beatitude. How much more to climb to the fifth Beatitude which requires following all the previous Beatitudes.
Let us look at the second Beatitude which is necessary to reach the fifth Beatitude. Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Who are those who mourn? These are souls who having become humble due to their knowledge of their past sins, are contrite for their past sins, had purpose of amendment, have paid for their past sins and have remained in the state of mourning because 'my sins are always before me (Psalm 50).'
For a person to mourn for his sins he must know all the commandments of Christ as enumerated in the New Testament because sins are disobediences to those commands. This will take a long time. You need graces to know the commands of Christ and more graces to know that you have disobeyed those commands because that make up  the virtue of repentance. Graces are needed to attain the virtue of Penance, and this does not come easy. So to practice this second Beatitude it will be even more difficult to rise up to the fifth Beatitude and be merciful.
Let us look at the third Beatitude. 'Blessed are the meek.' It means never getting angry at anyone; neither at the Democrats for being killjoys nor with President Trump for wanting to make America great again. This practically disqualifies everybody from reaching the fifth Beatitude.
Let us look at the fourth. 'Blessed are those who hunger  and thirst for righteousness.' Here, we are required to know everything that is right according to God. While in the previous Beatitude we must know what is wrong to be able to repent, in this third Beatitude we must know what is right to be able to do good works. This is the knowledge of right and wrong learned from God and is unlike the right and wrong learned by Eve from her own effort by eating the forbidden fruit.
To know what is right is more difficult than learning what is wrong because in the former human nature alone can learn it. But in the latter we need grace to know what is right. This is more difficult and will take more time. It makes it more impossible to reach the fifth Beatitude.

3. Only when you have risen up to the spirituality of the Fourth Beatitude can you qualify to enter the fifth Beatitude wherein you can become merciful to others and receive mercy from God.

4. Mercy on oneself.
How do you show mercy on yourself? By alleviating your misery. You can be miserable in two ways; physically or spiritually. If you do not have food to eat or clothes to wear, then you are miserable. How do you show mercy to yourself? Find food and clothing. If you cannot get some, beg. It is quite easy to show mercy to oneself and relieve one's  physical misery.
It is more difficult to relieve your spiritual misery. Spiritual misery takes place when you commit sin. It is difficult to relieve this misery because to remove the sin that causes misery you must be forgiven. But only God can forgive you. So you have to learn how to get that forgiveness from God. And God had taught us how to obtain it; by having the virtue of Penance. There is no other way to attain mercy from God.
    5. Showing mercy to others.
We show mercy to others by relieving both their physical and spiritual miseries. Just like above, we relieve the misery of a hungry person by giving him food; and we relieve his nakedness by clothing him.
We relieve the spiritual misery of others by teaching them how to repent; i.e. by practically evangelizing him.  This is shown in the Parable of the Good Samaritan. The Samaritan relieved the physical misery of the man beaten by thieves by binding his wounds. And he relieved his spiritual misery by putting him in an Inn to be cared for.  Freeing a person from his sin is the highest form of mercy because it is removing what makes a person most miserable.
In the Catechism, the first form of mercy is called corporal  works  of mercy. The second form of mercy is  called spiritual works of mercy. Again, the spiritual works of mercy is the highest form of mercy.

6. Pope Francis' immigration policy is not corporal work of mercy.
If immigrants are removed from their roots and transferred to Europe they suffer two miseries; physically, they are removed from their cultural roots and spiritually, they are not provided spiritual acts of mercy. Instead they should be fed, clothed, and sheltered in their own countries. If there is a way, help them militarily. Then spiritually evangelize them as an act of spiritual mercy. Pope Francis is doing neither. Instead he brings added miseries to the European hosts in that immigrants kill and rape them; thus causing the host countries physical and spiritual miseries. That is no act of mercy. It is a merciless act on the part of the immigrants and on the host countries.
Neither the immigrants nor the host countries are taught how to go through the four previous Beatitudes necessary to enable both to perform an act of mercy. Neither Pope, bishop, priest nor laymen had gone through the four Beatitudes. As a result, neither immigrant, nor host European country, nor Pope Francis, nor bishop......none of them are really performing an act of mercy. It's all public relation gimmick.

7. It is not the Divine Mercy.
The Divine Mercy of Christ is the mercy of the Beatitudes and not the mercy of Cardinal Kasper and Pope Francis.  We need further studies to see the difference. And we have the Catholic treatises of St. Augustine and St. Thomas of Aquinas to enlighten us. Unless we want to deceive ourselves straight to hell.

8. Pope Francis.
Let us look at Pope Francis 'Amores laetitia.' A husband hates his wife. That is a sin. He leaves his wife and children. That is another two sins. He looks for another wife. The is, also, a sin. And marries that other woman. That is the sin of adultery. That is five sins which will make him miserable five times over. Who made him miserable? Pope Francis by encouraging him to sin. That is no mercy. That is hatred.
Almost all the advises given by Pope Francis to married people, to gays, to atheists, to Protestants, to pagans, etc. is to further sin which is the main cause of misery. His main advice is to neglect the four previous Beatitudes which makes it impossible for anyone to be merciful and deserve to receive mercy. So who will be merciful to these souls? Definitely, no human like Pope Francis. And neither God who taught that He would only give mercy to those who are merciful.

29th Sunday in Ordinary time. RENDER TO GOD WHAT IS GOD'S AND TO CAESAR WHAT IS CAESAR.

 1. The trap.
The Pharisees and the Scribes had been trying to trap Jesus for the last few Sundays because they see the crowds going to Jesus and they were hoping that if they are able to make Jesus say something that could get Him into trouble with the Roman authorities, then the Jews might just abandon Jesus. But the opposite had been happening. Jesus had been refuting them effectively that the crowd had become more attached to Christ.
Again, in today's Gospel the Pharisees were again trying to trap Jesus by asking Him a double barrel question. Any answer could get Him into trouble. 'Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? The Pharisees, like all Jews, refuse to give tribute to the Romans. And they were hoping Christ would say the same thing. If Jesus, being a Jew, said not to give tribute to the Romans, then he could get into trouble with the Roman authorities whom the Pharisees brought with them in the hope of arresting Christ.
On the other hand, if Jesus said that no tribute should be given to the Romans, then he would be popular with the Jews and the crowd would follow Him. Christ said neither. Instead, He said; 'Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

2. What must be rendered unto God?
Obedience to the commands of God as found both in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Since the New Testament is the perfection of the Old Testament, we can concentrate on the New Testament. So obedience to the commands of Christ in the New Testament is the tribute that must be rendered unto God.
The Gospel of the Friday of the 29th Week of the year reminds us to 'pay the last penny,' i.e. to obey the least command of Christ which is to 'render to Caesar what is Caesar's.

3. What must be rendered unto Caesar?
Everything worldly must be rendered unto Caesar in return for the security and quiet which the arms of the Roman secures peace and security in the realm.
Peace and security is of the utmost importance for society so everything must be obeyed pertaining to the keeping of that peace. Criminality must be prevented. Terrorist must be apprehended. Imigrants who are not obeying the rules of immigration must be deported. Drug addicts must be gathered and rehabilitated. Demonstrators must be jailed.
Peace and order is even more important for the practice of the Catholic religion and so everything must be done so that everything pertaining to peace and order must be observed. To do otherwise is considered a sin. So the laws and just desires of the head of state must be observed as rendering to Caesar what is Caesar.
Rendering to Caesar what is Caesar's is a command of Christ. It is not a mere human command. It is a Divine precept disobedience of which is a serious sins. Christ and the apostles had been noted to pay their taxes in obedience to this precept. Thus going against the policies of the head of state that are just is a serious sin against God's command to render to Caesar his due.
