1. From the very words of Cardinal Tagle
Cardinal Tagle announced the result of the Vatican Sex abuse summit. In not so many words, the statement did not analyse the problem and it did not provide any solution. The summit was a failure.
It had no intention to know or solve the problem. It intended to merely shove the problem aside with the hope everybody forgets all about it.
The problem is expected to continue and grow worse. There is nothing that can be done. It is a wound in the Church that all have to live with; like the wounds of Christ, the statement said.
The wounds of Christ is described in two ways. First, as described by Rosmini in his treatise 'The five wounds of Christ' upon which Pope John XXIII based his decision to call on Vatican II. The Catholic Church is bleeding to death with five wounds. These sins were the sins of the men of the Church, like sodomy.
Second, as described by the Gospel when the Apostle Thomas demanded to see the wounds of Christ. Seeing them he declared Christ as God.
Cardinal Tagle quoted the second wound but interpreted it as if they were the first wounds. Imagine Christ having the wounds of sodomy for Thomas to see. No one can see sodomy and as a result declare the Divinity of Christ. Some confusion going on here?
2. The synod did not analyse the problem.
The on going scandal, involving US bishops, is the same problem as in the time of Abraham in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEM. Due to a way of life of pleasure and sinning, the inhabitants of the two mentioned cities had deteriorated from simple ordinary sin against nature into perverted and unnatural sins. This is the consequence of continuously descending into the levels of vices.
The Descend Into the Unnatural.
St. John Cassian described the deterioration of a soul in the natural level. It begins with gluttony, then fornication, avarice, anger, sadness acedia and vainglory.
As in Sodom and Gomorrah and as in the day of the Deluge, the people were eating, drinking and marrying inordinately. Those are the first two vices of Gluttony and fornication.
If the descend is not stopped by rising up to the life of virtue, the soul descends further into avarice, anger, sadness, anxiety about everything including global warming that is not under human control. And then, the descend continues to vainglory.
From vainglory, the person becomes insane and becomes unnatural thus becoming gay and sodomists. That is what happened to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
This is, also, what happened in the Catholic Church many times, but historically recorded in the 1100 when most of the cardinals, bishops and priests were sodomists. We shall see how St. Peter Damian handled the problem.
The soul that is guilty of the perverted sin of sodomy is the soul who has all the vices in his soul. To remove each vices will be a very difficult process. In most cases, the soul will run out of time.
The Vatican Synod on sex abuse summit did not analyse the problem. How can they solve it?
Even from the start, everybody was suspecting that the Vatican had no intention of solving the problem, because they did not know the problem.
3. The Synod did not give the solution.
At the time of Abraham, not giving in to the pleasures of the flesh and belief in a coming Messiah, was the solution. That was during the time of the Old Testament. In the New Testament when Sodomy plaque the Church even the Popes could not handle it. This was during Benedict IX, Victor III but most especially in the 1100 under Pope Leo IX up to Gregory VII.
During that time Leo IX summoned a monk, St. Peter Damian, who applied monastic life in its strictest version to the malady.
During the Gregorian reform, a Benedictine reform, the pestilence of sodomy subsided in the Church. But it returned with the proliferation of contraception in society and masturbation in the seminaries, together with Liturgical abuses in the Mass. Its spread is due to the fact that sodomists tend to recruit and drag others to the same vice.
The strict monastic life of St. Fructuosus of Braga, St. Basil and St. Romuald (7th century) was applied to the vice.
4. THE SOLUTION IS ONE OF THE PRECIOUS PEARL not given to pigs. St. Damian gave an analysis but not the solution. The solution was in the hidden life he was living.
So though St. Damian gave an explanation, his work did not write down the solution. Nobody will understand it, just as the Jews did not understand the explanations of Christ.
The solution is not given to the crowd. Christ often gave the solution only to the disciples in private. The solution is a matter of
Faith. And Faith is pearls that are not given to pigs, Christ said.
So the crowd cannot know the New Testament solution. Only those imbued with the theological virtue of Faith know the solution. And as commanded by Christ, it cannot be given to pigs, i.e. those without the theological virtue of Faith.
5. THE SOLUTION - Damian gave the analysis but not the solution. The Vatican synod gave neither the analysis nor the solution. What will you expect?
Perfect Penance and Faith as insisted on by the Gregorian reform, influenced by the spirit of St. Benedict. St.Peter Damian practiced, specifically, the stern monasticism of St. Basil and St. Romuald that is directed towards the cure for sins, especially, against nature.
The nature and solution to the problem are very clear according to the ascetical theology of the Catholic Church.
The problem is that people, today, do not want the Catholic solution.
The synod officials, themselves, are prone to the same vices. Tagle as shown in a youth event called 'flames' in England. He was invited by cardinal Nicols, who is known to show the same frame of mind. and many more attending the Synod.
In the 1100 St. peter was alive to give the analysis and the solution.
Today we do not have someone to tell the problem. and no saint to show the solution. So expect the worse, a decline that cannot be stopped, Pope Benedict xvi said.
6. The problem and the solution aimed at by the Vatican sex abuse summit was already written down by St. Peter Damian in the 1100. How come they did not adapt it for our present day problem.
Because the Church, today, refuses to look back at the rich tradition of the Church being stuck with their modernist heresy. The video with Cardinal Tagle explaining the result of the summit did not mention the cause of the problem, an analysis of the problem and the solution to the problem. Maybe it is there but it did not jibe with the analysis and solution of St. Peter Damian.
1. The Gospel
Christ describes those who are deserving to receive the kingdom of God; 'for of such is the kingdom of heaven,' pointing to young children. Heaven is given to those such as these children? What do children know about heaven that they can teach mankind? Seemingly none. But Christ says that they know the way to heaven.
God have given young children the grace to have natural humility that gives them natural holiness.
This natural holiness can bring children to heaven if they die in this state of innocence. But it can be easily lost when they reach the age of reason.
While the young child have the natural innocence, grown ups must raise that natural humility into supernatural humility through a life of repentance that forgives all past sins.
2. The teaching of the Catholic Church on the way to heaven may be summarised this way. First, one must have natural humility. Second, upon this natural humility the grace of supernatural humility is built on. Thirdly, the life of perfect repentance is built on supernatural humility. Fourthly, then on perfect repentance, God gives the soul the gift of the theological virtue of Faith. And fifty, upon perfect Faith God gives the soul the beginnings of Charity. Here, salvation is assured. Finally, Charity is perfected in heaven.
3. Sources.
Where do we get the knowledge and power to love God and neighbour? From God through His graces.
Where do we get the hope to be saved? From the grace of God as a reward for our perfect Faith.
Where do we get the knowledge to know all the teachings of Jesus Christ as taught in Divine Revelation? From the mercy and grace of Christ as repentance is perfected.
Where do we get supernatural humility that will enable us to repent perfectly? By knowing and obeying the commands of God the Father as revealed in the Old Testament and, also from the beginnings of the teachings of Christ in the New Testament who said; 'Learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart.'
This supernatural humility is not the natural humility of a man. That is the humility of a man-God. A supernatural humility.
And where do we learn natural humility upon which supernatural humility will be built on? FROM YOUNG CHILDREN.
4. The children.
St. Thomas of Aquinas describes the natural holiness imbued by God on all your children. This holiness is natural. It is temporary; it will not last long. It is the Hope that with this beginning in the life of a young child, the natural holiness can be continued and raised to the supernatural level through sound evangelization by parents, god-parents, parish priest and bishop.
In this state, God makes this young child a teacher to his parents and others on how to have natural humility upon which supernatural humility is built that leads to perfect repentance.
5. Children parents teamwork
At this point the Holy Family is the model. Here Joseph and Mary were not the first teachers of Christ. But the other way around. The baby Jesus was the teacher for the parents on his to become humble.
Parents take care of child physically. Children teach parents natural humility. No other teacher can do this except the young child. This is the first foundational instruction upon the spiritual life is built. So who would want to kill this baby? Satan.
6. KILL THE CHILDREN If someone would want to stop that process and prevent possession of the kingdom of God. What should he do? Kill the children so that there will be no teachers of natural humility.
From the beginning Satan killed the children to try to prevent mankind from knowing natural humility upon which to build spiritual humility that enables the soul to possess the kingdom of God. From paganism, to the worshippers of Molock, to the plains of Tepeyac in Guadalupe, Mexico, to New York, USA, children are killed as instigated by Satan. It is killing the first preachers of the human race.
7. The command is clear; 'Welome them to come to Me.' Most children are not welcomed these days. A disobedience that can be reason for the damnation of a soul. Add to this unwelcome attitude is to kill them in abortion up to the time of birth, is purely diabolical coming from spiritually possessed people similar to the possession of Judas. Repentance is nearly impossible for such due to complete control of Satan on such souls. Was Judas able to repent? No, even if he wanted to due to his slavery to Satan.
8. EVERYWHERE, CHILDREN ARE BEING KILLED.
IF babies are killed, then grown ups will have no teacher on natural holiness. Priests and bishops are adults who have lost their natural holiness so they cannot teach others; unless they have attained supernatural holiness.
While young babies are exemplars of natural holiness, adult priests and bishops will take many years and in their advanced age to learn how to be truly holy.
That is why we cannot find the Church. The first natural teachers are gone. How can they take the second and third step when they cannot even do the first step,i.e. natural humility of a child.
But God wants to give man a chance. So children, somewhere, somehow, shall, always, be born; to teach mankind the first step towards salvation. Happy is that family who have those Divine appointed teachers of natural humility. The lesson they teach is clear; be like me in the natural level that you may easily rise to the spiritual level. Doing so, you shall possess the kingdom of heaven here on earth and everlasting life in heaven.
Christ touch them and bless them. That was the assurance of everlasting life.
9. If New York kill those babies, there is nothing else for Satan to do to destroy souls. The ignorance that will follow is more than enough to kill their souls.
Satan does not have to destroy the Church because there will be no Church. No need to martyr the saints because there will be no saints. No need to destroy priest, bishops and Pope, because they will all be invalid. No need to destroy the Mass because there will be no valid Mass. The devil will be just enjoying themselves abiding in the possessed souls.
BUT THERE IS A GOD who decides who child will live and who will die and send abortionists to hell unless they repent seriously. And who is the child who will teach natural humility and those who will show the heights of holiness. And who will the parents be who, like Joseph and Mary, learn the beginnings of holiness from their children. And the parents who will repeatedly learn how to be holy from their first, second, third, fourth and fifth child. For great will be their reward in heaven.
1. The Gospel. The Gospel these days show the apostles having imperfect Faith and because of this were committing a lot of mistakes. At this point, the apostles were ignorant of one or two truths and they were committing very serious mistakes. How much more we who are ignorant of many truths. St. Peter was only ignorant of two truths and his mistake was so serious that Christ, Himself, called him Satan. And John, the beloved, ignorant only of one truth, committed a mistake that could cause the lost of one's soul. Christ, also, corrected him. Are you still wondering how come our priests, bishops and cardinals are committing so many serious mistakes. Because of their imperfect Faith. Or as Christ prophesied because they have no Faith.
2. There are many ways by which pagans are saved. Essentially, this way can be reduced to the same way Catholics are saved but described in different ways. Todays Gospel shows one way unbelievers are saved; not to go against Christ. St. John reported to Christ; 'Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name and he followeth not us and we forbade him because he followeth not us.' Jesus said, 'Forbid him not, for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. There are two statements of Christ that are similar but expresses opposite truths. The statement above, from Luke, shows how unbelievers are saved. 'For he that is not against us is on our part.' The second from Matthew and Luke shows how nominal Catholics are lost. 'He who is not with Me is against Me.
3. 'For he that is not against us in on our part.' This statement was used to refer to a group who did not belong to the disciples of Christ; sort of groups that are not Catholics. St. John tried to stop them for casting out devils, Christ corrected John and said, 'no man which shall do anything in my name will go against Me. As long as they do not go against Me, they are part of My Church. The group did not belong to the apostolic community but they were casting out devils. They are able to do so because they believed that they can cast out devil through the power of Christ. That is Faith in people outside the apostolic community. That is an act of Faith made by people outside the Church. Though John considered them outside the Church, Christ considered them as inside the Church through their act of Faith; 'they are in our part,' i.e. they are part of the Church. Of course, that is like putting one leg inside the Church. The possibility of taking that foot out again is great. So Christ corrects John and tells him; the fact that they are not against us makes them part of us. And you, John, should not correct them for that (which John was doing.) You should not correct them for having Faith but because they are staying outside the Church. Outside the Church, that small Faith will not grow. It will disappear. So invite them inside the Church to perfect that small Faith.
4. It is possible to make an act of Faith outside the Church. The group that John confronted were outside the apostolic Church, yet they had made an act of Faith that enable them to cast out demons. All men outside the Catholic Church can make that act of Faith. In fact, it is that act of Faith that enables them to enter the Church. The object of Faith are supernatural truths. But natural truths are objects of the beginnings of Faith. That there is a God is a natural truth that is an object of the beginnings of Faith. Thus all men outside the Church can be saved by making this act of Faith. But this Faith must be perfect to assure man of salvation. Faith is perfected within the Catholic Church. 5. How are Catholics lost? By not being with Christ thus going against Christ. He who is not with me is against Me. Who are those who go against Christ. St. Thomas of Aquinas wrote; 'he who cast out devils in the name of Christ but who does not join the fellowship with Christ, He is going against Christ. Even if a person believes all the teachings of Christ but but refuses to enter the Catholic Church, he is going against Christ. But this is impossible. St. Thomas wrote; ' he who believes the teachings of Christ will surely enter His Church. And he who enters His Church will believe all His teachings. He, therefore, who believes the teachings of Christ, like the Protestants, but do not enter the Catholic Church, do not really believe His teachings.
6. The weird phenomenon. This is the ongoing weird phenomenon. Most of the members of the institutional Church led by the Vatican do not show any of the four visible signs of the true Church of Christ. Why? Because they do not really believe shown in the fact that they go against the dogmas and morals of the ancient apostolic Church. They encourage adultery, sacrilegious communion, they do not believe in hell, they are ignorant of the theology of repentance, they believe all religions are equal, etc. They do not believe in the teachings of Christ as proposed in the New Testament and as interpreted by the Fathers of the Church. They are, indeed, going against Christ.

Because they do not really believe shown in the fact that they go against the dogmas and morals of the ancient apostolic Church. They are, indeed, going against Christ.
1. I know My sheep. And My sheep know Me. Christ had said that He knows His sheep. St. Thomas wrote that Christ knows His sheep because He had chosen them from the beginning, by granting them the theological virtue of Faith. And by the Faith that His sheep have, Christ can recognise which is His sheep. On the other hand, His sheep knows His voice. Basing it on the Faith that was given them, Christ's sheep knows its master because His voice speaks in accordance to His commands as found in the New Testament. A sheep cannot know the shepherd's voice without Faith. The shepherd knows His sheep because of their Faith. The sheep knows the voice of the shepherd through its Faith. Some Catholics are confused because the voice they hear from the on going Bishop's Synod on the abuse is a different voice; it is not the voice of the shepherd. Others are not bothered by the same voice.
2. The Good shepherd knows its sheep and the sheep knows the voice of the good shepherd. The good shepherd knows its sheep because he, himself, has chosen his sheep from the beginning and given them Faith by which the sheep can recognise the voice of the shepherd. This Faith is a supernatural grace. It is given to very few, to those who have fully repented. How will the sheep know the voice of the good shepherd? The voice of the shepherd will always conform to Divine Revelation as interpreted by the Fathers of the Church. Voice recognition shows that what is coming out of the on going Bishop's Synod on the Abuse does not conform to the voice of the good shepherd.
3. This has happened before. The present scandal besetting the institutional Church is nothing new. It has happened before and resolved by the Church before. We have seen how this identical problem happened in the Church during the 1100. And is presently happening in the institutional Church - the unnatural tendency towards sodomy. Suddenly, the institutional Church ceased to be the sheep of the good shepherd. The church continued to have its good shepherd; but the sheep were not the ones that knew the voice of its shepherd. They were sodomists.
4. The Gospel did not say whether the bad shepherd knows its goats; or whether the goat knows the voice of its master. The Gospel speaks only of the good shepherd knowing its sheep and the sheeps knowing the voice of its master. But the populace is confused as to who is speaking. The true sheeps are convinced the voice from the Vatican is not the voice of the good shepherd. They have applied the voiced recognition application to the Vatican and the voice coming from there does not correspond to the voice coming from Divine Revelation and as interpreted by the Fathers of the Church. In fact, it is the opposite.
5. Why Pope Benedict resigned. It is greatly suspected that Pope Benedict resigned because he saw that he was shepherding the wrong flock. He does not recognise the flock he was leading, while the flock was getting confused with what they are hearing from the Vatican. So he resigned his job as shepherd of the flock that he had not recognised as his. But remained there in case the true flock look for him in the place they believe he would be. He resigned to be the shepherd of those who know his voice.
6. The true Church make up those who recognise the voice of the true shepherd whose voice is identical to the voice of Divine Revelation as interpreted by the Fathers of the Church. Those who listen to other voices are of the devil, destined to be led by thieves, robbers and devils.
1. The Gospel. The Mass for Thursday, 6th Weekday in Ordinary time reminds us of a time when the apostles were still defective in their Faith that Christ called Peter 'Satan.' Actually, the apostles have almost reached the perfection of Faith; except that they lacked the knowledge of just three dogmatic doctrines. The passion, the Resurrection and the Ascension; because it has not yet occurred. This lack of dogmatic knowledge caused Peter to commit a serious mistake that Christ called him 'Satan,' because his mistake was one that only Satan commits, that is knowing disobedience to the Will of God. Christ had informed Peter of God's Will; that He was to suffer, be crucified, die, rise from the dead and ascend to heaven. And Peter said; 'don't do it!' What? Don't do God's Will? Now, that is really from Satan. Peter could think of acting like Satan just because his Faith was.......a little defective. Imagine if his Faith is very defective. Imagine, further, if he has no Faith. What sin could he have committed? The sin of Sodom and Gomorrah. This lack of Faith is the reason for what is happening to the Bishops in the US and around the world.
2. Defective Faith. To be truly a Catholic we must have perfect repentance, perfect Faith and the beginnings of Charity. Peter had perfect repentance and an imperfect Faith and Christ showed that he was capable of acting like Satan, and commit the diabolical sins of Sodom and Gomorrah. Today, Thursday of the 6th weekday in Ordinary Time, the Mass speaks about man being capable of the most atrocious sins , like abusing seminarians, sodomy and sexual perversion when lacking in Faith, like what is happening primarily in the US and noticeably around the world. Today, too, we celebrate the commemoration of the Feast of St. Peter Damian, a learned and holy Benedictine Monk, whom the Pope summoned to solve the seeming insolvable problem plaguing the Church that time. And the same Gospel, as interpreted by St. Thomas of Aquinas in his Catena Aurea, mentioned the solution to the problem. No need to attend the bishop's synod in Rome. Today, also, is the beginning of the special Bishop's Synod on Abuse summoned by the Pope to try to resolve this problem. And the whole Catholic Church is focused on this meeting with 100 men standing in St. Peter's praying the rosary. All of these happening today, and described in the Liturgy of the Mass. Divine Providence? Yes, God's mercy on His lost children.
3. Spiritual Possession Sodom and Gomorrah is a case of spiritual possession by the devil. Because of original sin, Satan is able to spiritually possess a person and make him commit sin. Every time man sins, seven extra devils enter into his soul until there are legions. Devils are miserable outside human souls. They make it a point to possess souls. Due to their countless sins coming from their inordinate desire for eating, drinking and marrying, they hit rock bottom and gave in to sodomy and other perverted sexual pleasures. The whole Catholic world was like that, too, around the year 1100. It was the New Testament Sodom and Gomorrah. The Pope, cardinals and bishops did not know what to do; just exactly like now. But the Pope that time had an inkling that St. Peter Damian knew the solution and asked him to help. St. Peter wrote a book laying down the solution; it was based on today's Gospel.....to perfect one's theological virtue of Faith but perfecting one's knowledge of all the dogmas taught by Christ. All! Those Catholic cardinals, bishops and priests involved in the scandal do not know all the dogmas taught by Christ. In other words, they are not truly Catholic. So the institutional church today, instead of being Catholic have become the modern Sodom and Gomorrah; and the whole world with it, since she is the light of the world.
4. The solution. As in the case of St. Peter, just because he did not believe in 3 dogmas regarding Christ, he fell under the influence of Satan that Christ called him 'Satan.' Sins, especially unnatural perversions, are diabolical. It cannot be solved without driving the devil that has spiritually possessed the soul; a devil that can only be driven away by an act of perfect Faith. The bishop's synod meeting in Rome will not be able to solve this because most are faithless. Nothing will come out of that synod because they have not considered this element of spiritual diabolical possession involved in the problem where legions are involved. 5. Perfect Faith. Peter's Faith was to be perfected after the passion, Resurrection and Ascension, after he had believed in these dogmas. What is the Catholic way of attaining perfect Faith? From the very beginning of Christianity, perfect Faith was attained through a very austere and primitive observance of the monastic life. The only reason the first Christians went to the desert was to attain, without any distraction the perfection of Faith; and for no other reason. And the first monks tried to surpass each one in austerity. The more the faster one reaches the perfection of Faith. The apostles were, themselves, set aside by Christ away from the world to live in community for this purpose. St. Peter Damian was doing it so he could help the Pope solve the problem of sodomy during his time. The purpose of monastic life was, precisely, to prevent the legions of devil to enter the soul and drag their victim to base and perverse sexual behaviour. Fornication, itself, St. Paul wrote, is from the devil. How much more sodomy and sexual abuse which in today' s Church has reached its summit in Rome. Perfect Faith which is the result of perfect repentance and attainable easily through an austere and primitive monasticism is the solution. And that was the Penance impose of the US bishop by Pope Benedict. Because that was the solution. Nobody in today's bishop's synod will use this solution. Because the devil that still possess most of them will force them to continue in that deplorable spiritual state. This is a great spiritual battle. Just as the devil seems to win in Sodom and Gomorrah.......and again in the Rome during St. Peter Damian's time.....it seems he will win again in the synod in the Vatican. If it does, it is a chastisement from God for the infidelity of the Church that Blessed John Newman predicted even as an Anglican. Austere and primitive monasticism in the tradition of Pachomius, John Cassian, the desert Fathers is the solution. Sadly, no present monastic order fall under this category so that they themselves are filled with sexual perverts. Some monastic abbot generals are no different from McCarrick.
6. Learn from the Liturgy, not from the Synod. As in the days of St. Peter Damian, the Pope and the bishop's synod do not know the solution. If they knew they would have used it earlier. But they really do not know the solution because the real problem is that they do not have perfect Faith. They do not believe that the solution is to perfectly know the teachings of Christ and to perfectly obey the commands of Christ. Proof? They do not know all the teachings of Christ and they have not observed the commands of Christ. In short, as Christ, Himself, prophesied; we live in an age where there is no Faith and a total decay of Charity. What is coming is not global warming. It is the unstoppable fire and brimstone.
1. Charity.
Christ was teaching the way to perfection that is required for salvation. The path leads beyond observance of the law. This leads to Faith, Hope and Charity. The greatest is Charity.
Faith, to be true Faith, must be enlivened with the beginnings of Charity. Charity cannot be perfected here on earth. Only in heaven. But saints have attained different degrees of Charity. One higher than the other. To be saved all must have perfect Faith enlivened with the beginnings of Charity.
Today's Gospel deals with the highest beginnings of Charity possible here on earth, ' to love your enemies.' It is impossible for any soul to reach this degree of Charity if they have not loved their loved ones, their neighbour, their friends, their countrymen, etc. Your enemies will be the hardest to love. And you will need God's grace to do that because it is an act that makes man similar to God.
You cannot reach Charity without perfect repentance, perfect Faith, Hope and the beginnings of Charity. This is going beyond observance of the commands and beyond observance of the evangelical counsels.
2. The Gospel of the 6th Sunday in ordinary time.
The Gospel describes that degree of Charity (Love of God) that is directed towards one's enemies. What must you do towards your enemies?
a.) Do good to them which hate you.
b.) Bless them that curse you.
c.) Pray for them that use you.
d.)Unto him that smitten you on one cheek offer also the other.
e.) And him that taketh away thy cloke, let him get you coat, too.
f.) Give to him that takes away thy goods and ask them not again.
g.)What you want other to do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Today, understandably, the whole world, unenlightened by the Gospel have violated this precept of Christ. But, sadly, the institutional Catholic Church have acted in violation of the same Gospel. Heightening the rising suspicion that the institutional Catholic Church office in the Vatican is no longer Catholic nor Christian, because it does not have the hallmark of true Catholicism 'See how they love one another.'
3. The bishop have seriously sinned without doubt.
Not as serious as Judas, and not even as serious as Peter. If Peter repented and was immediately restored to his original state of spirituality as if nothing happened, why not the US bishop. All Peter did was what we all have to do when we sin and that is 'to repent and then believe.' Why has everything become so complicated that synods have to be held to resolve it. The simple solution on how to handle it, is simply stated in today's Gospel. When things get complicated, the plan is to cover up. Then they really need a synod.
All men have sinned, St. John wrote. Including many priests, bishops, cardinals and even Pope. Does it mean they should be laicised? No, because there are different degrees of sins and each degree have their corresponding punishments. Venial sins are punished in one way; mortal sins another way. Canon Law have specific penalties for certain sins. And the US bishop's sin does not fall under laicisation. Penalty for heresy and abandonment of religious life is laicisation but most of those committing other mortal sins are just required to live of life of repentance.
4. Due penalty.
For the US bishop, to encourage him to live of repentance is enough before man and God. Thus Pope Benedict, as his spiritual father, asked him to live in a monastery and live a life of repentance. To leave his diocese and cease practicing his faculties is part of living the life of repentance in a monastery; they are not part of his penalty.
To live a life of perfect repentance for the forgiveness of sin in a way that those sins would not return is more than enough to make up for one's sin before man and before God.
5. The life of repentance for the forgiveness of sin takes years.
God had made repentance light and sweet and easy, just like all of His teachings, otherwise no one can enter heaven. But it will still take years. Considering his age he might just not reach perfect repentance when he dies. So to postpone his starting the life of repentance in an ideal monastic setting, would be most cruel. And it has just been postponed.
For McCarrick, this is all that is demanded of him by God. And that should be enought for all men, unless man wants to be more demanding than god.
6. What should Catholics tell McCarrick? Like what Christ taught; 'Repent and believe.'
But we live in an age where no one knows how to repent and believe. This ignorance of the life of repentance is what made the whole world NOT believe in today's Gospel message.
a.) The victims.
The US bishop was the enemy of the poor victims because he had sinned against God and against the victims. He must make reparation both to God through a life of repentance and to the victims in the form of good works towards neighbour.
The Gospel obligation of the victim is clearly to love them, to pray for them and forgive them. If the victims do not forgive the bishop, God will pity them for being a victim but God will not forgive their personal sins for refusing to forgive the bishop.
For exposing the bishop to media, for investigation, for ridicule, etc..they had gone against the Gospel law of Charity and, therefore, as God threatened them, He, Himself, will not forgive them their personal past sins.
The victims should forgive otherwise God will not forgive their other personal past sins.
b.) The other bishops and the Pope should tell him to repent and help him in every way to do so; and pray for him. Which they seem not to have done. So, they have, also, violated this law of Charity. Since violation of the law of Charity is a serious sin, their sin is more serious.
Not only did the Vatican fail in helping him repent. The Vatican tolerated his sins, promoted him to higher office, abandoned him spiritually and then cruelly laicized him in his old age.
c). For the rest of the institutional church, like the Internet websites, they are looking at the mole in the eye of others which is a lesser sin because it is a sin of flesh, while not seeking the beam in their own eyes in lacking Charity towards a prince of the Church; a more serious sin.
d.) And the rest of mankind who judged the US Bishop; well, don't do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you. This is the Golden Rule imprinted by God in the hearts of all men and all men should know it. To be wilfully ignorant of it is worse than the sin of the bishop.
e.) Everybody with the right mind should have simply said; 'go repent and sin no more.' Christ would have said this. But nobody is like Christ.
7. Removal from the diocese or parish and suspension from saying Mass is the necessary consequence if he is told to go to a monastery and repent. The removal from being a bishop or a priest should not be a punishment unless it is for heresy or abandonment from the religious way of life or being awol from the priesthood.
He should have remained a cardinal, a bishop and a priest with faculties to say Mass, away from all human contact .......except that he should be in a monastery repenting which is to live the monastic life in its totality.
8. All the above behaviour, except the act of repenting is considered unCatholic and against the commands of Christ. The action of the Vatican in doing nothing for his repentance is tantamount to sending him to hell, which is total lack of Charity and most unCatholic.
The US bishop must have behaved like a sinner. But who is not? Who is worse? Those who have sinned and have cast the first stone.
This case shows more not the sad story of US Bishop. It shows more the deplorable state of the Catholic Church, from the top to the bottom. He was not an enemy to most. He was in fact a father to most and a confrere to many bishops. 'See how they love one another,' was the way the Catholic community was described once upon as time. Where is Charity in this case.
